This event is designed with beginners in mind but is open to all! Come as you are, leave refreshed!
In order to maintain the integrity of this event, spots are limited so that all can hear the guided meditation. You must register for a "ticket" in advance to reserve your spot.
MEDITATION MYTHS:
You do not have to be a Zen master to meditate. You don't have to say "ohms" or find a way to "think about nothing." We are wired to create thousands of thoughts a day - eliminating them completely is impossible. Meditation is a form of mindfulness with the simple of goal of being aware, whether of your thoughts, your body, or your surroundings. If nothing else, just think of this as a time to unplug, be thankful, and find a moment of peace outside of the city.
WHAT TO BRING:
A yoga mat, blanket, or pillow/cushion is recommended since we'll be sitting on the ground for about 30 minutes. Make sure you are able to carry it for a short walk. Water & sunscreen may be a good idea too. Basically, bring & wear whatever you need to be comfortable.
