On New Year’s Eve 1999, Coventry held its breath as Frenchman Ramon Kelvink stepped off the spire of Holy Trinity Church and tightrope walked his way above the city and into the history books. 20 years to the day later, come and relive that unforgettable night with the first public screening since 200 of the film, made by Talking Birds, of Coventry’s Millennium Party, alongside film short Girl With A Movie Camera and a performance of the Tightrope Prelude by Derek Nisbet, specially commissioned for the original event, and played live on the mighty Cathedral organ by Kerry Beaumont.
The screening/performance will be preceded by a Q&A around the theme of "Where were you 31.12.99?" Bring your own memories of the event to the story sharing and hear some unique insights from the team that organised it! Q&A starts 5pm in the New Cathedral.
Film Screening/Performance starts at 6pm in the New Cathedral (finish by 6.45pm)
FREE EVENT but donations towards the Cathedral’s Peace & Reconciliation work welcome.
