On Friday 2nd March hfl events are heading to 'Threesome', a collaborative exhibition by three women painters, in association with critic and invited curator Anna McNay.
We'll celebrate the work of Sarah Jane Moon, Sadie Lee and Roxana Halls with a private, after-hours party. In the exhibition 'Threesome', the artists engage with the theme of sexuality in singular and compelling ways, offering arresting interpretations of the 'female gaze'. Each an accomplished figurative artist, their queer identities inform much of their work.
Differing notions of queer identity are explored here and this group invites aesthetic as well as ideological scrutiny. These gay women make bold, alluring, witty and deft works, which seek to foreground the idea of the female gaze and explore how they look at each other and themselves. The show’s title, ‘Threesome’, makes a coolly sardonic reference to the voyeuristic aspect of lesbian representation: any eroticism in these works is strictly intentional.
Join us, the artists and a discerning group of wonderful women for a private view party, where complimentary drinks will be expertly prepared and delivered by Stav Bee.
Each ticket includes:
Entry to the private view party
One welcome drink
One themed cocktail / or mocktail
One glass of wine or beer
Please note, hfl events are women only parties - we do not permit entry to cis men.
The gallery is located in a basement and can only be accessed via a set of stairs.
