The Joint Venture Conference featured vetted food & beverage brands, credible technology companies, retail chains, cultivators, Licensed Producers and large enterprises who look to pitch and strike a Cannabis industry joint venture deal with one another. There will be a team of industry experts vetting presentations in advance to ensure each joint venture opportunity is viable, and a strong business case. In the audience will be License Producers and large enterprise brands who will be hearing presentations.

Adena Lindstrom, President and CEO of Adena’s Edibles & Extras Ltd.
Adena graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from the University of Saskatchewan and has over 13 years of experience with Alberta Health Services, where she specialized in Nephrology. She quickly identified a gap in education and advocacy for healthy alternative methods for consuming Cannabis medicinally specifically in end of life care, conservative kidney management. Her high energy, belief in Cannabis, passion in the kitchen, and professional focus has made her a unique addition to the area of Cannabis infused foods. Adena’s Edibles & Extras was incorporated in January 2018. She attends local “baked sales,” and caters to birthdays and other events with her famous rice krispie squares and dark and white chocolates. With her Nutritional background she has a strong goal to start producing Cannabis Nutraceuticals, as well as treats, for specific disease conditions under compliance of the Cannabis Act.
Brad Churchill, CEO ChoklatFor the past 11 years Brad Churchill - an ecommerce expert and serial entrepreneur, has been building a Choklat – a craft chocolate business that has become known all over the world for producing some of the finest chocolate that money can buy. Recently Choklat threw it’s hat into the cannabis ring and hired CCI to assist with their Federal Cannabis Processing License. Choklat’s unique bean to bar processes give the company a distinct advantage over other chocolatiers when it comes to creating properly infused chocolates and confections. The company has also finalized recipes for the infusion of THC and CBD into all types of sugar in such a way that there is no discernable difference in taste or smell compared to non infused sugars.

Tracey Zehl, Managing Partner, Grant Thornton LLP
Tracey is a partner with Grant Thornton LLP in Calgary with over 18 years’ experience helping clients with their audit and assurance needs. Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Tracey excelled in a Big 4 firm, serving in a number of leadership roles specific to private companies and not-for-profit organizations. She is a dynamic business advisor who understands the wide variety of challenges small businesses often face. She works closely with each of her clients, building customized solutions to ensure they see measurable results and reach their full potential.
Tracey is also committed to the community, serving in her third year as President of the Board of Directors for the Ronald McDonald House of Southern and Central Alberta where she has also held the position of Audit Committee Chair and is presently the Chair of the Strategic Planning, Board Development and Human Resources Committees. Tracey also volunteers with the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede Royalty Committee as the Training and Transition Manager.
Baron Lee, CFA Portfolio Manager Matco Financial Inc
Baron has over ten years of industry experience, began his career at Fiduciary Trust Company of Canada and joined Matco Financial in 2010. In addition to being a member of Matco Financial’s Investment Committee and Equity Working Groups, he is also a Portfolio Manager on the Matco Cannabis Investment Fund and Matco Canadian Equity Class. He graduated from the University of Lethbridge with a Bachelor of Management degree and has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Eric Van Dam Director, Recreational Sales at Sundial
Eric has over 15 years of sales and marketing experience in the Consumer Goods and Beverage Alcohol industries, working for Red Bull, Heineken, and General Mills. Prior to joining Sundial, Eric spent time at Cannabis Compliance Inc (CCI) as a Business Development and Licensing Consultant where he successfully led the company in sales revenue by defining the scope of work for new licensing and regulatory projects. At Sundial, Eric is responsible for the commercial planning and execution of the company’s recreational business. Eric holds a B.Comm. (Hons.) from the University of Manitoba.
Tyler Stuart, co-founder and Managing Partner of Green Acre Capital
Tyler has been actively involved in the cannabis sector since 2016 as an investor, advisor and Board member. He currently serves in Board roles for Solo Growth, a cannabis retailer in Alberta, and Ceria Brewing, an infused cannabis beverage company in Denver. Prior to entering the cannabis industry, Tyler spent 15 years in Investment Banking and Capital Markets.Green Acre Capital is Canada’s first and largest Venture Capital fund that is exclusively focused on cannabis investments. GAC currently manages in excess of $100 million in global cannabis assets. The Fund invests in many sectors of the cannabis value chain with a goal to create an ecosystem among portfolio investments that will help fuel growth and innovation in the cannabis industry
