St Gregory’s Foundation (UK charity no.100246) invites you to an evening of online Russian Art Talk & Raffle.
To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of St Gregory’s Foundation by helping raise funds for Russian orphans, one of the world’s leading experts on Russian Art, James Butterwick,will give an exclusive talk ‘The dark side of the boom—the mass faking of Russian Art’.
Our 30th Anniversary Raffle will be run on the evening. Come and support a great cause and have a chance to win some fantastic prizes!
1st Prize: A commissioned portrait worth £3,000 by Vladimir Presnyakov. The established portrait painter from St Petersburg, Vladimir Presnyakov, comes to your home & takes digital photographs. He then paints your portrait and returns to you for a final sitting to complete the portrait. The portrait will be 3/4.
2nd Prize: Russian landscape painting worth £1,500 by Elena Philipova.The well-known landscape artist, Elena Philipova graduated with Honours from the Repin Academy of Arts, St Petersburg. Her evocative paintings of Russian landscapes are very popular. Elena donated "Staritsa Winter's Day",70x 80 cm, oil on canvas (a view of Staritsa medieval town near Tver).
3rd Prize: An exquisite set of bed linen worth £500 from Volga Linen, a luxury British brand that sells an exquisite collection of pure linen products.
4th Prize:'Russia’ by D. MacKenzie Wallace - rare 19th century, 2-volume illustrated book - kindly donated by Butterwick Fine Arts Ltd.
5th Prize: ‘The history of Loot and Stolen Art from Antiquity until the Present Day’ by Ivan Lindsay - an illustrated book kindly donated by Lindsay Russian Art.
Funds raised will support the crucial work we’re doing with our Russian partner the Sunflower Centre in St Petersburg to help orphanage-leavers affected by the Pandemic when they cannot cope alone. Our training sessions aim to reach out to over 100 young people and make them more resilient, able to support each other and gain skills. Help prepare teenage orphans for independent adult life (stgregorysfoundation.org.uk)
Ticket price £25 includes one entry to the online draw and is non-transferable. Buy more tickets for more chances to win. Please contact julia@stgregorysfoundation.org.uk if you would like to buy multiple tickets per person.
After you've bought your ticket(s) you will be allocated a number(s) and sent a link to the Zoom call. Once 400 tickets have been issued the offer will be closed. The lucky winners will be announced on the evening & contacted after the draw on the 8th of March.
Any extra donations would be much appreciated. You must be over 16 to join the raffle.
