Description
This workshop will teach youth aged 14 to 21 to discover calligraphy. Calligraphy is a great way for youth from all walks of life to discover and express their voice. The practice of calligraphy has been proven to increase cognitive brain function and mind-body co-ordination. This workshop will connect youth with passionate professional artists and build confidence in their calligraphy skills in a positive and encouraging environment.
About the FacilitatorRei Misiri is a Toronto-based multidisciplinary artist and designer migrated from Tirana, Albania. During his earlier stages of cultural adaptation, Rei found urban arts as a voice for his identity and has been involved in community art projects since 2006. He has exhibited at: Rogers Center Stadium, Art Gallery Of Ontario, Daniels Spectrum, Super Wonder Gallery, Yonge-Dundas Square, Nathan Phillips Square, and Nuit Blanche. Rei has extensive experience in arts education and project management working with UNITY Charity and The Patch Project.
Rei is currently pursuing his BFA at OCAD University and has an interest in interior design.
