Join us Friday, October 29th at 2:30 pm for a discussion around different alternatives to policing and the overall carceral system, this panel will occur as a part of our Racialized and Indigenous Student Experience (RISE) Summit. We will be delving deeply into abolition and its practices, particularly in relation to racialized communities. Within so-called Canada, Indigenous, Black, and racialized groups are often targeted by police and overrepresented within the prison industrial complex. This panel will serve as an opportunity to learn more about the harm caused by policing, while also discussing various restorative alternatives to the carceral system.
