Questions
What is the cost? Registration costs $40 and includes the cost of manual, lunch and snacks.
How should I dress for the workshop? Dress comfortably. You will be both inside and outside doing different activities. It is always suggested that you wear close-toed shoes in a natural area.
What should I bring with me? Because TLNC is primarily a wetland area, you might also want to bring bug spray in case of mosquitoes. You might also want to bring a hat, sun screen, pencil or pen and paper. As an environmental facility, we walk our talk and request that you bring a coffee cup or mugs for beverages.
What do I need to do to get In-service credit? Contact your local in-service coordinator to obtain the appropriate documentation for attending this training. This workshop will meet all requirements for in-service credit but you are responsible for coordinating with your local school district. You must attend the full workshop to receive in-service credit and complete required follow-up.
How do I find Trout Lake Nature Center? TLNC is located at 520 East CR 44 in Eustis. There are several roads named 44 in the area and often GPS or smart phone maps have TLNC located incorrectly. TLNC is one half mile east of the intersection of SR 19 and CR 44 (this intersection has a Publix, Winn Dixie, Burger King and Walgreens) at the northern end of Eustis. You will see our sign on the south side of the road.
Will my cell phone work at Trout Lake Nature Center? Some cell phones only work in the parking lot area or if on our guest network. Because of our metal buildings, some cell phones do not work inside the buildings. The land line for TLNC is 352-357-7536 and can be used for emergencies.
