Description
Please note, this talk has been postponed due to scheduling conflicts and will not take place on Wednesday, October 17, as previously advertised. We will be in touch with the information regarding date and time.
Once viewed as a band-aid for metropolises battered by development, public art has become essential for creating urban centres that invite and engage. Scale, form, and materiality, are hallmarks of the social and economic environments of the time.
Together with Sandra Ainsley Gallery, Design Exchange hosts a panel discussion featuring acclaimed artists Martin Blank, a premiere glass sculptor who first cut his teeth with Dale Chihuly; Albert Paley, a metal artist who recognized with the highest honour for a non-architect by the American Institute of Architects; and Daniel Clayman, a glass sculptor with a theatre background. The three come together to discuss their work and their contributions to the urban fabric.
This event is free, however registration is required. Seating is limited.
This talk is a part of the Forward Focus: DX Talks Series which will focus on the challenges and opportunities emerging as we explore urban issues and seek to build cities and communities that are inclusive, safe, beautiful, smart, sustainable, and resilient.
