Description
Our very first concert of a new and exciting season with the Big Island's Kamuela Philharmonic Orchestra!With the departure of our founder and Conductor Emeritus, Dr. Madeline Schatz-Harris, KPO is in search of a new Artistic Director. This season, our three concerts will feature three different guest conductors, all of them chosen from an international pool of over 90 applicants.The first guest conductor of the season is the immensely talented Brian Dollinger. Hailing from Illinois, Brian Dollinger has conducted many orchestras throughout the country, including the Quad Cities Symphony Orchestra, Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra, Marion Philharmonic Orchestra, Idaho Falls Symphony Orchestra, and Muncie Symphony Orchestra. He is also a frequent guest conductor and clinician with various youth string festivals, competitions, and workshops, as well as the Central Illinois and Northwest Indiana Youth Symphonies.He is currently the Conductor and Music Director of the Muscatine Symphony and Clinton Symphony Orchestras in Iowa.Under his baton, the Kamuela Philharmonic will be performing Beethoven's Egmont Overture and the Jeux d'enfants, op. 22 by Bizet. Then, after a small intermission, we will be performing Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4 in f minor, op. 36, widely regarded as one of Tchaikovsky's greatest symphonies.Come kick off an exciting season of music and talent with the Kamuela Philharmonic, and behold "The Power of Inspiration!"
