Technology is advancing so fast that some experts claim we are on the brink of the fourth Industrial Revolution or Industry 4.0. Connected physical and digital technologies make up systems capable to make autonomous decisions using data analysis and machine learning. The implementation of these smart technologies will redefine industries and competitiveness across the world.
In addition to the latest innovations, another key differentiator will be gender diversity in the tech industry. The McKinsey’s report (2015) and other studies showed that hiring and promoting women correlates with increased profits and better performance. Even though Canada and USA are part of the top five countries with the highest percentage of women in tech (Honeypot, 2018), the difficulties for women in getting a job and advancing in their careers prevent companies to take the lead in innovation.
Instead of only remaining concerned about how these technological innovations will affect our jobs and business, we should take steps forward and get prepared. With this in mind, on March 11th, ExpoPlaza Latina holds the “Women in the Americas” seminar in partnership with #BCTECHSummit aimed at providing you the opportunity to build valuable connections and broaden your knowledge with worthy insights and advice from tech experts while encouraging international collaboration and women empowerment.
