More than 75 years after the Holocaust, the international community still struggles to act on the lessons learned to halt contemporary genocides. Rwanda, Srebrenica, Darfur—and now Xinjiang—are all modern, painful reminders that preventing future genocides and related crimes against humanity are an enormous challenge – but one that the international community must prioritize. On January 26, on the eve of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, join the World Affairs Council for a discussion with Naomi Kikoler, director of the Simon-Skojdt Center for the Prevention of Genocide at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM), to learn how the promise of “never again” can be fulfilled.
