Description
With Jaws, Aquatic Horror took a big bite out of the box office and in the process created the modern blockbuster. This virtual lecture will define what constitutes an aquatic horror film and chronicle select historical milestones - from the late 80s mini-boom surrounding The Abyss, to the action creature features of the 90s, to contemporary international blockbusters like The Meg. Along the way, we’ll investigate the sub-genre’s appeal to both audiences and Hollywood, as well as its evolution over the last four decades.
