Foundations in Acting is a semester-long course recommended for high school students wishing to hone their performance skills through extended scene work and collaborative theater-making. Students will practice various acting methods and techniques and unlock a more nuanced palette of expression. The course will cultivate a sense of dedication to craft, respect for fellow artists, and joy in performing. The semester will culminate in a showcase of student work. Class texts may include excerpts from works such as Lovers Part 1 by Brian Friel, War Boys by Naomi Wallace, Uncle Vanya by Anton Chekhov, Summer and Smoke by Tennessee Williams, The Crucible by Arthur Miller, and Angels in America by Tony Kushner.
