Learn from nationally-renowned expert, Carole Barth on how to create a rain garden that delights your customers and your bottomline. In the morning, you will learn how to create a rain garden that is beautiful and that holds and treats stormwater runoff for years to come. In the afternoon, you will get to see installed rain gardens and see what works (and what doesn't). In the afternoon, you will get to see three rain gardens-including the oldest rain garden installed in a commercial setting in Maryland.
The instructor, Zoe Clarkwest, MLA, is a principal and owner of Rain Underground, LLC. She brings years of community focused design experience and of surface stormwater management design and has worked with local governments, non-profits, and private sector clients. Rain Underground’s projects include multiple rain gardens and conservation landscapes in the Baltimore region, as well as the highly designed plantings for the U.S. National Arboretum’s Grass Roots Exhibit. Ms. Clarkwest’s objective for stormwater management design is to meet client goals while assuring long-term success of the plantings.
