Our New Choices Peer Recovery Coach Curriculum
Our new PRC is a virtual recovery coach training on zoom during evening hours. There will be 2 hours of pre-work (homework) to be completed on your own prior to each day. Pre-work assignments will be emailed no later than 1 week before the first training date.
We are proud of our newly acquired CHOICES PRC training. The CHOICES PRC training provides a specific level of information and skills. This CHOICES PRC training is available in both English and Spanish. Contact our training team if you would like one scheduled in Spanish.
This PRC training is designed for individuals looking to begin their journey as a peer recovery support specialist or peer recovery coach in the substance use field; or for those who are looking to learn how to better engage with those suffering from Substance Use Disorder (SUD).
This training provides 30 CEs and is a NAADAC Approved Training.Participants often include people in recovery as well as family members, law enforcement, first responders, social workers, community partners, policy makers, CASAs or GALs, or anyone that has been affected by or from SUD. Peer Recovery Coaches possess powerful experiential knowledge that can aid others in initiating and sustaining recovery. This course is designed to harness the power of experiential knowledge and combine it with research to provide the necessary skills to become an effective and ethical recovery coach.
Our virtual PRC training in its entirety provides 30 hours of CEs and can be completed in five 7-hour days or customized to a schedule that better suits your specific needs. Embark/PCA offers Peer Professional Education Packages providing 60 hours of training at $775. Our teams can provide Supervision, Volunteer Intern Hours, and provided experience working in the peer milieu. Participants will gain a strong foundation of the roles of a peer recovery coach and understand how the roles are different from other traditional and existing support methods. Participants will be introduced to the many concepts and skills involved in effective recovery coaching, preparing them for professional roles to serve their communities as peer support advocates.

are eligible for at least 2 Credentials
1) Colorado Peer Credential CPFS
2) NAADAC Peer Credential NCPRSS
Colorado Peer Credential- 60 hours of approved trainings https://www.coprovidersassociation.org/home-cpfs. Does not include 500 work or volunteer hours; 25 hours of Supervision; written exam, application fee.
NAADAC Peer Credential- Satisfies the requirement for the NAADAC Credential minus 6 hours of Infectious Disease. Click here for more information
