Feeling trapped in a world of domesticity; Liverpudlian housewife Shirley needs a change in her life before she has another conversation with the walls. When her friend Jane invites her on a trip to a Greek island, Shirley jumps at the chance. Upon landing, Jane ditches her for a fling, leaving Shirley to her own devices. She wanders the island, meets a taverna owner and begins to find the joy in life again…
Denise Quinn holds an M.A. in Drama & Theatre Studies and has worked in theatre for many years as an actor, director, writer and teacher. Among her favourite stage roles are the title role in Frank McGuinness’ Baglady (Red Kettle); Annie Wilkes in Stephen King’s Misery (Suirfire Productions); Ginnie Gogan in Sean O’Casey’s The Plough and the Stars, and Mammy in Martin McDonagh’s The Cripple of Inishmaan, both with Waterford Dramatic Society. Other more recent roles include Mary Fortune in Tender Mercies & Gina in YES, both written by Collette Cullen and produced by Home You Go Productions. Denise has written three plays: The Bluebell Stop, Bardot Bites and Lucy Bastible, all produced by TooDog Theatre Co. Bardot Bites and Lucy Bastible toured extensively in Ireland and Newfoundland. Denise’s most recent acting role was Mrs. Lopsided in Songway Films 2019 short film The Silver Lining.
