Description
Conservation Initiative for the Asian Elephant presents:The first of its kind Asian Elephant Conservation and Indian Cultural Celebration featuring live traditional and pop Indian music and dance, art, children’s activities, and wonderful food at the Wooly in downtown Gainesville, FL.Performances will be given by the India Education and Cultural Center, University of Florida student organizations, as well as by independent musicians and artists.Wonderful Asian food prepared by Top Restaurant will be provided as part of admission, and there will be a fully-stocked cash bar operated by skilled bartenders from Top Restaurant. Debuting at this event will be the one-of-its-kind “Elephant Bike”, a life-sized, articulated, kinetic elephant sculpture. Elephant Bike creators Raymond Rawls and Lorraine Duerden will be providing live demonstrations of the Elephant Bike.In addition, there will be an art sale of works created and donated by local artists, and a continuously supervised safe play area for children that will include elephant mask painting, elephant figure sculpting, and drawing.
