Thursday 29th NovemberTom Joshua, Weird Milk and Toby Corton & His Band By Chance
Tom Joshua is a singer songwriter from Teeside, North East England.
His life with music is relatively new-found and he’s been haphazardly picking up
instruments over the last few years. His songs dance around notions of the end of the world,
nostalgia, and a good deal of heartache. With influences from Nick drake, Damien Rice, and a plethora of
teen-angst bands, his 2017 debut single ‘Meteor Showers’ garnered over a million Spotify
streams, attracting support from BBC 6 Music and BBC Radio 2’s Jo Whiley. Find out more here
Following the release of 'Better' on RaRaRok Records on May the 7th, of which Jack Saunder's at Radio 1 described them as "Tame Imapala meets The Beatles", Weird Milk have played the Alternative Escape and Tramlines Fringe Festival, as well as playing a sold-out headline show at The Old Blue Last in October - with with the promise of new music coming very soon!Find out more about Weird Milk on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/Weirdmilkmusic/Toby Corton & His Band By Chance
A refreshing mix of retro and modern influences Toby describes his sound as ‘a modern British take on Neo-Soul. Jazz, soul, r'n’b with an indie sensibility’. The talented singer/songwriter has quickly developed from acoustic performances to now working with a full live band, recently selling-out their second only ever live gigtogether at Servant Jazz Quarters in East London.
Toby’s first ever demo ‘Hazy Sunday’wasreleasedlast year and currently stands at an impressive 80,000 SoundCloud streams. The single also attracted theattention of Colors Berlin who invited Toby in for a live session and also led to a performance at Pride 2017 in Trafalgar Square.
