Saturday, April 29th discover these fine local breweries, distilleries and wineries:
Highlander Brew Co. http://highlanderbrewco.com/
Highlander Brewery’s story begins in 2009 with the brewery’s first beer, a traditional Scottish Ale, which remains one of our best-loved beers. Our beer is brewed from pure local free-flowing waters, with barley cracked onsite to ensure freshness. Our careful attention to quality in our small-batch brewing process, paired with expert selection of the finest ingredients gives all of our beers a distinctive taste and smooth finish. Highlander beer is a mix of the old and new. Some ingredients, such as hops and selected malts, are imported from Germany, United Kingdom, and the USA to give our beer a distinctive, Old-World flavour. Other ingredients are sourced locally in Ontario, both hand-harvested and purchased from farmers. Our careful selection of ingredients and careful attention to water quality make our beers shine.
Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery http://www.flyingmonkeys.ca
In a dorm room, in a garage, in a basement, in a kitchen – we all started as Beer Hackers brewing for cheapness, utility, and curiosity. Flying Monkeys’ Founder, Peter Chiodo, learned home brewing as a little boy in Gramp’s Etobicoke basement. Mining his skill as a broke university student in Alabama and even broker grad student in Mississippi, our Peter honed his talents and learned to respect beer brewed with hands (not machines). And his passion for local, fresh craft beer grew.
Muskoka Brewery http://www.muskokabrewery.com/
Nestled in the heart of Muskoka, Muskoka Brewery handcrafts premium beers as unique and refreshing as the region they're from. Founders Gary McMullen and Kirk Evans kicked the doors of Muskoka Brewery open in June of 1996. What started as a very small and dedicated team has quickly grown to a passionate band of craft beer lovers over 130 strong.
In short, we have a passion for great beer and we hope you get a chance to try it and enjoy it.
There is only one Muskoka. It is a special place where rugged granite outcrops and lonely windswept pines meet the shimmering beauty of freshwater lakes. Unspoiled natural beauty is what people find here in Muskoka. This place is our home. It is at the heart of what we brew. Go ahead, taste it.
Lake of Bays Brewing http://lakeofbaysbrewing.ca/
We’re passionate about balanced, drinkable beer, the kind that pleases your palate and leaves you wanting more after the first glass. We have a small core of year-round brands, and a rotation of seasonal beers, too. The objective is always the same: to create a great-tasting beer that’s simple, honest and all-natural to boot. It’s a big, wild world out there. But some things never change. Make us a trusty companion on your beer-drinking journey, and you’ll be rewarded with quality, consistency and great taste, every time.

Rheault Distillery https://rheaultdistillery.ca/
Rheault Distillery is a small, artisan distillery located in Hearst, Northern Ontario, which prides itself for creating hand crafted, small batch spirits for connoisseurs. We understand that the most important feature of anything is what’s inside and that’s why we use homegrown grain and give each batch the personal Rheault-touch it commands. And while you’ll notice we spared nothing when it comes to taste, we also package all of our products in glass bottles to preserve the flavor and to ensure your batch is given the respect it deserves. We pride ourselves on creativity and excellence within our field, but don’t take our word for it, try it yourself.

Colio Winery http://www.coliowinery.com/
Over 30 years ago, three Italian bricklayers named Alfredo, Tiberio and Enzo arrived on the shores of Lake Erie, the warmest winegrowing region in Canada. They came with a single goal in mind, to build a world-class winery, and this ambitious dream gave birth to Colio Estate Wines.
Following the 19th century prohibition, Colio received the first winery license to be granted in Southwestern Ontario. This region boasts one of the longest-growing seasons in the country with latitude similar to Northern California and the Tuscany region in Italy.
Today, we continue to make expressive, refreshing white wines from our vineyards, planted with the likes of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Riesling. We have also built a remarkable reputation for varietals and sound red wines from our extensive plantings of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. To carry on the bricklayers’ legacy, we have Lawrence Buhler, one of Food & Drink magazine’s Young Winemakers to Watch, onboard as our Chief Winemaker.
