Description
We are pleased to invite you to SOIL: Slow Opportunities for Investing Locally's first Annual Meeting & Community Celebration! After two years of pre-launch and launch discussions and meetings, we are back, again, at our favorite venue, beautiful Lone Hawk Farm. This time, we are in full motion, having made our first three loans and looking forward to much more. It's time to both celebrate and push onward.
We are also pleased to announce that we will be joined by team members from Poudre Valley Community Farm, the innovative project in Ft. Collins that is pioneering a new model of community ownership of farmland, as well as Boulder resident Maggie Fox, who is uniquely positioned to provide broader context to our work on local food systems, carbon and soil. Maggie is a veteran of climate change organizing and education, including leadership of Al Gore’s “Climate Reality Project.”
Program details:
1:00–2:30pm: Members-only business meeting (review bylaws, 0% for SOIL campaign)
3:00–6:00pm: Free public program and celebration (remarks by Maggie Fox, a panel discussion about the local food system, poetry, and music)
6:00–6:45pm: Reception with beer, wine, cider and light hors d'oeuvres
7:00–9:00pm: Farm-to-table dinner catered by Pastures of Plenty
