Mental Fitness: The Game Changer and Key to Psychological Strength and ResilienceDr. Jackie Kinley, Founder and CEO, Air InstitutesSophie Kinley, Marketing and Course Coordinator, Air InstitutesKyle Milley, Market and Product Development, Air Institutes
Facing stress is intertwined with being human. Stress can be detrimental to our mental health and performance. However, not everyone folds when things get difficult – some thrive and grow. Why do some bounce back – even forward – under stress?
This engaging and informative training workshop introduces the concept of resilience and the paradigm of mental fitness. The truth is, we can all benefit from being more resilient, because resilience is a capacity that can be built.
Participants will become empowered to view the stressors of life through the lens of mental fitness, one that will change their approach to the challenge – and opportunity – that adversity presents.

In this workshop you’ll learn how you and your teams can survive and thrive during times of crisis and post crisis recovery, such as the COVID-19 pandemic. The workshop will review the principles of leadership during times of crisis as presented in the literature. As well, participants will listen to “real life” stories from established leaders and mentors with experience in times of crisis. The implications for leadership practices, particularly for emerging and early career leaders, will be a focus. Led by Faculty from the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation (IHPME) at the University of Toronto, this workshop will be a highly interactive session including panel discussion, small group case study (leadership dilemma) and peer to peer coaching conversations.
