Coach Laurie was born in raised in Southern California missing her
left hand. She was a Professional Snowboarder (Slopestyle – Jumps &
Rails) 2004 – 2010. Laurie competed in contests such as the Dew Tour,
Honda Session, Icer Air, US Open, Aspen Open, Australian Open, New
Zealand Open, Canadian Open, Vans Cup, Hot Dawgs and Hand Rails, Super
Park and many more.
During her peak, Laurie was ranked 8th in the world (in 2008)
according to TTR world snowboard tour. She is most recognized for
winning USASA Slopestyle Nationals in New Mexico 2004, ASA’s Super Girl
rail contest in 2008 (placed 1st+best trick), 2009(1s+best trick), 2010
(3rd) and 2011 (1st + best trick). She also placed 1st at Volcom PB and J
finals 2009, 1st Kawasaki Triple Air 2008, and 1st at Queen of the
Mountain several years running.
During Laurie’s career, she was sponsored by: Ride Snowboards,
Oakley Eyewear, Pharmacy Board Shop, Mountain High Ski Resort, and
Vestal Watches. Currently, Laurie just rides for fun and stays busy
playing softball, hockey and juggling while living in Boulder, Colorado.
