Al Tinholt is a rather large teddy bear. He brings an inviting compassionate presence to our event. He is quick to step out of the theory to demonstrate with poetic ease... this is what it sounds like in words! Music to the ears!

His special interest in transformative communication took root in 1994 when he worked with youth peer support in service programs. Phone # 587 438 8824My introduction to Nonviolent Communication came in 2005 when I participated in a 3 day workshop with Marshall Rosenberg; what I heard there made my heart sing with joy and I knew right then that I wanted to learn this process and share it with others. In 2009, this journey led me receiving the designation Certified Trainer with the Center for Nonviolent Communication.Sharing NVC brings me so much joy and meaning and an abundance of opportunity for growth and self-discovery! I share NVC in Canada and the US at online and in-person trainings and have offered it in organizations, schools, hospitals, conferences, homeless shelters and adult recovery programs.I am so deeply grateful for the enormous shift in my ability to connect with myself and others which NVC has inspired. As a facilitator, I enjoy blending my natural ability to connect with people, my warmth, authenticity and sense of humor to create a learning environment which is fun, energizing and inspiring

Val Brandham
hamuchan7@hotmail.com
Val is back after wowing everyone with her insights around children last two years. Val calls herself a passionate newbie to NVC and never does things in half measure. Having been drawn to Marshall Rosenberg’s work in January 2015 her gung ho attitude lead her to start using components of NVC with her clients and families before she even finished Marshall’s book. Since that enthusiastic beginning, Val has attended several NVC workshops, an IIT, a few NVC Conferences and has incorporated compassionate communication into her work as a high school counselor, educator, Family Violence Treatment Program group facilitator, and in her own day-to-day living. She loves kids and is becoming fonder of adults as she goes along. She specializes in using compassionate communication with children and adolescents and loves to see them embrace the paradigm of caring and empathy that is created through NVC. “Parents get it too,” she says, “but their kids are usually showing mom and dad how it is really done.” Armed with mindfulness, compassionate communication and neuroscience Val is compassionately participating in changing the world, one connection at a time. When she’s not doing that she teaches scuba diving and is fascinated by clown fish and sea horses.
Coach Lynda Switzer B.A., B Ed. has been facilitating
experiential workshops on communication, intimacy and conflict management for
over two years. She is immersed in practicing self compassion, self acceptance
and is committed to Non-Violent Communication (NVC). She has an appreciation
for witnessing the divine in all beings. Relationship alchemist, Coach Lynda is
certified in the Gottman Method of Couples Therapy and has taught individuals
and groups how to reinvigorate stagnant relationships, increase the quality and
depth of their connection and, to prevent conflict. Lynda is dedicated to
choosing love over fear in her own life and to teaching others how to create
joyful, vibrant and juicy relationships.
What participants are saying:
NVC has changed my life. I came to the conference as part of professional development for work. What I have learned has helped me be a more Team Lead, but even more impacting it has given me a way to connect to and express myself to loved ones in a way that I am more likely to be heard! I recommend these workshops to all. - KG, Leadership and Development Consultant
Al you are an amazing facilitator, listener and support…. I most enjoyed watching you pulling out words from our 'stories' finding meaning in what each person said/shared. So many layers and so fascinating! Keen to see what we can incorporate further…- MW, Project Coordinator Mental Health Capacity Building for Children and Families
Thank-you for your leadership and teaching and your mindful pauses and your intentional breaths and most of all your humility. Al you get this stuff deeply and that is easily noticed in you!- Rev. E.A.H Calvary Lutheran Parish
