Description
Composer giants Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven are referred to as the “First Viennese School” of composition. At the same time they were composing some of the most beloved pieces of classical music on one side of the Atlantic Ocean, the American Revolution was taking place on the other. Join us as we bring together in cross-reference monumental historical events in both the worlds of symphonic music and our American beginnings. Don’t miss the opportunity to have students participate in the Symphony League’s 45th annual Paint to Music Contest in conjunction with this program as well. Some 200 pieces of winning artwork will be projected onscreen above the orchestra in the concerts!
