OUR SPEAKERS
Damir Becirovic joined Index in 2015 and focuses on venture and growth investments inconsumer internet companies. He is particularly interested in companies that are re-inventing commerce, financial services and media. Prior to Index, Damir was at Goldman Sachs, where he worked on M&A and capital markets transactions for consumer / retail, healthcare, and cleantech companies, and at Coatue, where he was involved with the firm's investments in Lyft and Avvo. Damir has also worked at Activision Blizzard, Apple and Flextronics.
Damir graduated summa cum laude from the University of Southern California with a B.S. in Business Administration. He currently lives in San Francisco and can be found on a soccer field in his spare time.
Andrea Lamari is the Director of the West Coast Region for Nasdaq Private Market, a division within Nasdaq dedicated to working with private companies in advance of an IPO to provide software and Nasdaq resources to manage company equity, stock plans, and shareholder liquidity in the form of private tender offers and secondary transactions.
She is the co-founder of Equidate, an online trading platform for private company stock backed by Tim Draper, Charlie Cheever, and Structure Capital. Prior to building Equidate she started Equity LLP, a corporate transactional law firm focused on technology startups and held the role of Venture Associate at New League Capital, a legacy Silicon Valley-based venture capital firm started by the Hotmail founders.
Alex Lim is a Senior Associate at IVP and joined the firm in March 2015. He focuses on identifying and evaluating later-stage enterprise software, Internet, and mobile investments. Alex worked on IVP's investments in Qubole, SteelBrick, Walker & Company, and Zerto, and is actively involved with Ayasdi and Snapchat.
Prior to IVP, Alex worked in the Technology Investment Banking group at Credit Suisse, where he was involved in numerous strategic and financing transactions for a variety of companies in the enterprise software and Internet industries, including Marketo, Borderfree, Sohu.com, Riverbed, and Ubiquiti Networks.
Alex is a CFA Charterholder and earned a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a Morehead-Cain Scholar.
Joanne Yuan has many years of experience building, advising, acquiring and investing in growing technology businesses. She loves supporting founders as they build and scale their start ups. Prior to joining Cowboy, Joanne was on the investment team at private equity firm Hellman & Friedman, where she worked closely with the management teams of consumer internet, digital media, software and services companies, including in operating roles leading strategic projects at Catalina Marketing. She has also been a deal lead on the corporate development team at Google, focused on acquiring start ups. Joanne started her career in mergers and acquisitions at Morgan Stanley. Joanne has dual degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and a graduate degree from Stanford. She founded and serves on the investment committee of The Women's Building in San Francisco.
The Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center is a San Francisco-based non-profit that provides aspiring and current entrepreneurs with access to quality resources, including mentors, training, and networking.
