The chest thumping beat of Nanny’s favourite dance tune, or the terrifying lightning strike as the villain appears (often to the peril of poor Nanny’s dance routine!) – The Live Events community wants to be there creating that Magic just as much as you do. But never fear, Nanny is near! Through the magic of the WWW - The Whacky Wide Web, oh yes you CAN enjoy the Magic that is Panto AND you CAN help support the Live Event Community at the same time! In March 2020 live events came to an abrupt stop. Live Events were first industry to stop and will be the last to return. #WeMakeEvents champions the live entertainment industry and actively raises money to help provide immediate support for individuals and families impacted by COVID-19. In the UK, #WeMakeEvents has selected the registered charity, Backup. Backup commit to relieve people who have worked in the Entertainment Technology Industry for at least five years, and/or their immediate family members, who are: In need by reason of ill-health or injury. Experiencing unexpected financial distress or hardship. Every pantomime screening purchased will generate a£4 donation directly to the charity. Furthermore, from the monies raised, Backup will also fund the additional #WeMakeEvents selected registered charities and community interest organisations in the following ways: Acting for Others – includes The Theatrical Guild, The Royal Theatrical Fund & Fleabag Support Fund and The ROH Benevolent Fund. Music Support – for anyone in the music industry to help mental, emotional and behavioural health disorders.
