Watstock '18 is pleased to present The Wooden Sky w/ catl. & Grate Northern
The Wooden Sky
An indie folk rock band based in Toronto, Wooden Sky released their debut album in 2007. Since that time the band has released seven records including their latest ‘Swimming In Strange Waters.’ Exclaim magazine, “The album has a raw, live energy that will be familiar to fans who have seen them in large venues.” Ride The Tempo, “borrowing from Americana, 70’s pop rock and hints of psychedelic rock this is a standout record.”
Primitive and rhythmically driving back beats are the back bone of CATL’s soul saturated bangers. Get ready for the dance floor…guitar and drums, girl/boy vocals, with a side serving of harmonica, recall a simpler time when people believed in the ultimate rewards of drinking liquor, dancing, and getting’ dirty.
Orillia, Ontario’s Grate Northern delivers free flowing jams in the spirit of the Grateful Dead. Look for inspired interpretations of the classic Dead catalog as well as some extra groovy covers. Band members bring a wealth of history and experience from all genres of music spanning funk, metal, folk, prog-rock and most things in between. Grate Northern will have you up on your feet and shaking your bones before the night is through!
Band Members: Ryan Smith, Chad Van Dusen, Matt Copeland, Sean Murray and Ian McEwen
