We are now offering in-depth and interactive virtual tours with some of our favorite wonderfully weird homes! You can tour this home from your own home and from anywhere in the world! October 20th - 6PM (central) Back by popular demand, Austin's iconic Sand Dollar House is back for another live tour before going on the market! Designed by famed Austin architect and Frank Loyd Wright apprentice,John Covert Watson, the Sand Dollar House best exemplifies the organic architecture movement of the 1970s. Watson sought to promote harmony between human habitation and the natural world through a variety of methods. First, the home embraces its surrounding environment with huge, blind-less windows that give stunning 270° views of Lake Travis. Next, Watson rejected artificial straight lines for flowing and more organic feeling curvilinear walls. Finally, to top it all off (literally) the Sand Dollar House features, well, a huge sand dollar for its roof. Its teardrop skylights flood the home with light. Originally built as home and studio for artist Eugenia Hunt in 1979, the Sand Dollar House has had a few owners in its lifetime. Come meet current owner Liz and get a rare inside look at a true Austin treasure. Want to live in this AMAZING house? It's actually for sale! THIS IS AN ONLINE EVENT ONLY - Ticket purchasers will be emailed an access link ONE HOUR before the event (check your spam folder) and a recording will be made available afterwards. *Photos by Thanin Viriyaki Photography.
