VIRTUAL Q&A AND DISCUSSION WITH DR. HOMEIRA QADERI
This month, we’ve got a special Power Up Club event in store for you, to go along with your summer reading aspirations and to mark the one-year since the Taliban takeover in Afghanistan.
Join us on August 9th at 7pm (BST) for a virtual Q&A and live discussion with Afghan author and activist Dr. Homeira Qaderi, centered around her award-winning book Dancing in the Mosque: An Afghan Mother’s Letter to her Son. If you are a Power Up Club member, you can use the discount code you recieved via email to secure a free ticket.
Make sure to read the book before the event and come prepared with any questions you may have. It can be purchased online at Amazon, Waterstones or any other book retailer. If you are using Amazon, make sure to use Amazon Smile and choose Women for Women International as your selected charity.
Hailed by the Observer as ‘a page-turning account of the lives of Afghan women’, Dr. Qaderi’s remarkable story is one of strength, resilience and power. Though her story is her own, it is also one that is shared with millions of Afghan women who are refusing to give up hope in the face of immense suffering and repression under the de-facto government.
