What is the Proptech Society?
The Entrepreneurship Society was founded in 2012 with the mission of connecting top business executives (venture capital, banking, enterprise, auxiliary services, etc) with others who could help move their business forward.
In 2019, the same team formed The Proptech Society with a similar business development objective.
The Proptech Society (TPS) is focused on Proptech deal making. TPS runs highly-curated, small-group-size monthly business invite-only conferences. As well as exclusive Join Venture Conferences. Activations that bring together top proptech executives, investors, service providers and working professionals.
TPS is a global company hosting invite-only conferences in markets including Canada, US, Europe and Asia. The Proptech Society's main objective is to be a business development opportunity for proptech entrepreneurs, large entities, and venture capitalists.
What is our Joint Venture (JV) Conference?
With the goal of forming strategic partnerships / joint ventures and facilitating investments into emerging proptech companies, this conference presents a unique opportunity to interact with and hear pitches from credible, funded proptech companies.
Among our various partners, a team of industry experts will vet presentations in advance from funded proptech companies who apply to ensure each joint venture opportunity is viable and a strong business case.
In the audience will be investors, vetted proptech funded companies, proptech executives, and major real estate developers.

Presenters:
Grant Findlay-Shirras, the Co-Founder of Parkbench.com and Creator of the Local Leader® Marketing System is managing one of the fastest growing real estate startups in North America with more than 1000+ realtors around the world. Thrive Global recognized Grant as a top Thought Leader To Follow In 2018 and Epic Impact recognized Grant as a 30 under 30 influencer. Grant is most notably known for building a multi-million dollar tech start-up with no investors and a new leadership style.
Anshul Ruparell, is the Co-Founder and CEO of Properly, which makes buying or selling a home stress-free and instant. Prior to Properly, Anshul invested in early-stage consumer startups with FJ Labs and built several VC-funded marketplaces including Merlin and Poncho. He started his career working in investment banking and then private equity.
Ryan Northcott is the founder of Northmap Networks, a company focused on providing property technology to the energy industry. For the past 12 years, Northmap has served private sector oil and gas exploration companies, maintaining property assets and facilitating in the exploration and acquisition of land rights. Currently Ryan is bootstrapping northmap.ca, an information rich web-based GIS mapping platform to target the emerging renewable energy industries across North America. He is a graduate of Queens University with an Electrical & Computer Engineering degree.
David Steckel, is the Co-Founder and President of Setter. David came up with the idea for Setter after renovating and building homes for 10 years and realizing that his homeowners had no one to help them manage their homes after the build was done. Setter is a virtual property manager and concierge that takes care of their clients homes so they don’t have too. With a focus on preventative maintenance, coupled with the ability to tackle any repair or upgrade a client can ask for, Setter was able to garner enough traction to catch the attention of Sequoia Capital. Setter is operating in Toronto and San Fransisco and is currently looking into their third market.
Monika Jaroszonek is Co-Founder and CEO of RATIO.CITY, an early-stage, tech start up creating digital tools for planning and building smart cities. Her background in architecture and design framed her interest in the forces that shape our urban environments. She has over 15 years experience working in award winning Architectural firms in Toronto, and is leveraging that experience to create a comprehensive urban analytics platform for planning and building great cities. RATIO.CITY helps Real Estate industry professionals access information, evaluate their options and make better decisions. Our mapping, site analysis and 3D scenario massing tools enable architects, urban planners, real estate developers and commercial brokers to strategically identify great sites for development, understand the planning and regulatory framework instantly and test 3D built form massing.
Experts Panel:
Trista Miller is an Associate Director on the Corporate Development team at Sidewalk Labs. In this role, she supports Sidewalk Labs’ mission of radically improving urban life in Toronto and around the world by helping to shape the company’s new approaches to urban design and cutting-edge technology into sustainable and replicable businesses. Trista is currently focused on pre-development work for Sidewalk's master-planned project in Toronto, the first phase of which is an approximately three million sq. ft. mixed-use development, utilizing mass timber, sustainable building materials and design, and off-site prefabrication. Trista is also working on advancing Sidewalk's scalable real estate investment strategy, as well as structuring commercial partnerships and investments around Sidewalk's innovations for building design, delivery, and operation. Prior to joining Sidewalk, Trista worked at Goldman Sachs in investment banking in New York and Sydney, where she held roles in infrastructure and real estate finance, and M&A. Prior to that, she worked at the New York City Economic Development Corporation. Trista has an MBA from Cornell and a BA from Yale.
Julian Antony is a Senior Director of Strategy, Investments and Partnerships at RBC Ventures. He works within the Home Ventures division which is focused on developing new Consumer PropTech ventures to engage consumers beyond the traditional banking products offered by RBC. Home Ventures aims to support Canadians through every stage of their home journey, by building startups in-house, acquiring growing firms, making investments and partnering with consumer PropTech startups that share its vision. Julian is responsible for developing strategy, leading investments / acquisitions and managing financials for a portfolio of early-stage PropTech startups. Prior to joining RBC Ventures, Julian acquired work experience in Asia, Africa and North America as a business strategist, management consultant and investor at organizations including Standard Chartered Bank, Capital One, Value Partners Management Consulting, BlackBerry and Infosys. He is a CFA charterholder and holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering Honors from McGill University.
Natasha Lemire-Blair, MBA, CAE, Director of Member Engagement, has more than 17 years of service with the Ontario Real Estate Association in a variety of progressive positions. As Director of Member Engagement, Natasha is responsible for product and services designed to serve the needs of grassroots members® including the Young Professionals Network, Emerge conference series, OREA Standard Forms and Clauses, and commercial REALTOR® services. Natasha is a graduate of the Political Science program at Wilfrid Laurier University, has a Master of Business Administration from Queen’s University and holds her CAE® – Certified Association Executive designation. Natasha lives in Toronto with her husband Frank and their daughter Kiera who is an aspiring figure skater and aerial circus performer.
Anvesh Rai is a Principal at GreenSoil Building Innovation Fund, a strategic proptech venture fund investing in technology companies that make real estate and infrastructure more productive, efficient and sustainable. Anvesh is jointly responsible for deal sourcing, executing due diligence, structuring of investments and assisting portfolio companies on corporate strategy.

Prashant Matta, is a partner at Panache Ventures'. Panache Ventures' is one of Canada's most active seed stage venture capital funds. We invest in world class founders building new technologies and unique data capabilities to deliver superior software applications that open or create large markets.
Hooman Mehranvar is an investor at OMERS Ventures, where he is responsible for research and executing on investment opportunities in the Technology sector. His focus areas include real estate tech, blockchain and fintech areas. Prior to joining OMERS, Hooman was the GM of Toronto at Sonder, a hospitality-tech startup, where he oversaw the operations and business development of the local market. Hooman has also spent 6+ years in management consulting where he worked with Fortune 500 companies to addresstheir strategic priorities. Hooman holds an MBA from Columbia University and completed his Bachelor of Engineering at the University of Toronto.
Jake Cassaday, is a Partner at Relay Ventures. His background in product management and marketing provides a strong understanding of rapid product development and go-to market strategy. He supports deal sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio management at Relay. Previous to Relay (+ some school), Jake managed product development and marketing as a Global Brand Manager for tech brands at Spin Master.

Gord Oughton is the Vice President, Leasing, Central and Western Canada at Allied. He is responsible for overseeing leasing activities across Allied’s Central and Western office and retail portfolios. Prior to joining Allied in 2015, Gord spent eight years in brokerage with Avison Young. He is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario.
Jeff Keats is a District Manager for Export Development Canada (“EDC”). Jeff leads a team of talented and dynamic EDC Account Managers that are helping Canadian companies go, grow, and succeed internationally. EDC offers Canadian companies the financial and risk mitigation tools, trade expertise, and market connections that help these companies capitalize on international business opportunities, access more capital, and scale their businesses. Jeff has been with EDC for over 12 years in a variety of roles including business development and financing. He has a BBA from Acadia University and an MBA from Memorial University, which included a semester in Germany. Prior to EDC he lived and worked in Japan, and also worked at a Canadian Telecom company.
Brad J. Lamb has been selling real estate in Toronto since 1988. In 1995 he founded Brad J. Lamb Realty Inc., a boutique brokerage operation specializing in urban condos, lofts, and townhomes. Over the past 20 years, the company has acted as the exclusive broker for 100+ of the top developments in Toronto. To date, Brad J. Lamb has been involved in real estate sales over $8 billion dollars and over 24,000 properties sold. Furthermore, with over $1.3 billion of condominiums developed in Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, and Calgary.
Aly Damji is EVP, Investments & Asset Management at HULLMARK and oversees investments/acquisitions, asset management, leasing and property management of the company’s growing portfolio of urban mixed-use, retail and office assets across Downtown Toronto and the periphery markets. Aly has accumulated over 12+ years of experience in many major markets across North America acquiring over $3.5B in various asset types and asset managing/leasing over 5M square feet of commercial real estate.
Matt Young has over 10 years of experience in the real estate and development industry where we has managed the development of over $5 Billion dollars in residential condominiums and commercial space, representing approximately 8,000 units and over 7,000,000 sq.ft. Prior to joining Capital Developments, Matt spent 3 years as a Project Manager for Lifetime Developments. Since joining Capital Developments in 2012, Matt has overseen the design, development, marketing, sales, and construction of an expansive portfolio, including 155 Redpath, 150 Redpath, The Art Shoppe Lofts & Condos, E2 Condominiums, and most recently, Azura Condominiums. In 2016, Matt also led the acquisition of the Bloor & Dufferin lands, a 7.3 acre mixed-use site at the south-west corner of Bloor Street West & Dufferin Street. Since acquiring this landmark property, Matt has led the community engagement, design, and entitlements for this new masterplan which will feature over 2,000 market condos and affordable housing units, a nearly 1 acre park, a 30,000 sq.ft community hub, and over 200,000 sq.ft of new retail and commercial space.
Urban Capital has delivered over 4,500 urban condominiums, with another 2,600 now under construction and several thousand in the pipeline, totalling over $3.7 billion in development. In 2003, the company added Montreal to the mix; in 2009 they brought acclaimed Saucier + Perrotte Architectes to Toronto for their River City development; and in 2013 they have expanded to Winnipeg.
