Description
Maximum rock and roll.
Dave Grohl has been one of music’s most beloved figures since Nirvana’s 1991 album, “Nevermind.” Grohl took center stage with Foo Fighters’ 1995 self-titled début, the first of the group’s ten studio albums—including, most recently, “Medicine at Midnight.” Grohl’s creativity has seen him expand into film (the feature documentaries “Sound City” and “What Drives Us”), TV (the Emmy-winning docuseries “Sonic Highways” and the recent “From Cradle to Stage”), and now books: “The Storyteller,” his memoir of a life lived loud, will be released October 5th.
Kelefa Sanneh has contributed to The New Yorker since 2001 and has been a staff writer since 2008. He is also a contributor to “CBS Sunday Morning.” He came to the magazine from the Times, where he had been the pop-music critic since 2002. Previously, he was the deputy editor of Transition, a journal of race and culture based at Harvard’s W. E. B. Du Bois Research Institute. His new book is “Major Labels: A History of Popular Music in Seven Genres,” from Penguin.
This event takes place at the Skyline Drive-In, in Brooklyn, New York.
