The Music Videos of Fleet Foxes
GRAMMY Museum L.A. Live
800 W Olympic Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90015, USA
Director SEAN PECKNOLD in conversation with Fleet Foxes’ Robin Pecknold and Jeremiah Chiu
Fleet Foxes' fourth studio album Shore was surprise-released last year on the Autumnal Equinox to global acclaim. To commemorate the one-year anniversary of the release, the band will premiere a new animated video by longtime collaborator and director Sean Pecknold and screen a retrospective of his Fleet Foxes film-based work at the GRAMMY Museum on September 21. Since 2008, Sean has crafted the visual narrative behind Fleet Foxes' songs, interpreting them for the screen in the form of music videos, short films and production design. While his chosen medium shifts dynamically between claymation, stop-frame animation and live action, his point of view remains singularly engaging. Employing analog filmmaking techniques, he creates stories that evoke a vast range of universal emotion whether his characters are lonely shapes, people, creatures or objects. This retrospective of his work for Fleet Foxes will highlight over 10 videos and select behind-the-scenes footage, premiere a new animated work and feature Sean in conversation with Fleet Foxes' bandleader and brother Robin Pecknold moderated by LA-based artist and designer Jeremiah Chiu. All attendees will receive a commemorative signed art print.
