Description
A story about ageing happy, healthy & free of disease.
The Longevity Film investigates the complex topic of ageing by documenting the longest lived, healthiest & happiest cultures from around the world.
Filmmaker Kale Brock (The Gut Movie, 2018) visits specific communities with significantly improved average life expectancies, remarkably low rates of disease and an extremely high quality of life well into the later years. Traveling to Okinawa (Japan), Loma Linda (California) and Ikaria (Greece) for a deep dive into longevity culture and what it really takes to get well and stay well, Brock delivers this transformational documentary with light hearted wit and a warm sense of relatability.
Featured expert commentary by Dr. Mark Hyman, Nick Buettner, Dr. Ross Walker, Dr. Craig Wilcox, Paul Chek, Daniel Vitalis, Dr. Damian Kristof & more.
"The longevity cultures live, on average, 8-10 years longer than us, and these are good quality years, often spent surrounded by friends and family with a big smile on their face. We don't have that in the West. We waste away, dying earlier and unhappier than we need to. The truth is, we're not living in a way that's conducive to longevity. Whilst making this film even I realised that I needed to totally rethink my lifestyle if I wanted to stay well - that's a huge challenge to overcome. "

FAQs:
Will the movie be premiered online or can I watch it another time?
The Longevity Film will not be available online in the near future.
When should I arrive?
Please arrive around the time stated on the schedule above. Please allow time to find a car park if you are driving to the cinema.
Do I need to print out my ticket?
No. We believe in a paperless workplace so please just keep your ticket handy on your smartphone. We ask that you have your ticket open and ready on your device for a swift check in process!
Do you have wheelchair access?
Wheelchairs can access most venues screening The Longevity Film. If you are concerned, please phone the venue directly. Ticket holders with wheelchairs may need to arrive 10 minutes early as you will be seated first. Note: we have booked a ground floor cinema, but if all tickets sell out, we may upgrade to the upstairs cinema, which is not wheelchair friendly.
I have a child with me - can he or she come?
Children under 2 years can attend for free (please consider other guests). Keep in mind, the child will have to sit on your lap. Seats are reserved for ticket holders only.
What sort of seating will there be?
Cinema style! There are NO reserved seats - first in best dressed.
How long will the Q&A go for?
The Q&A will run for around 20 minutes. However guests are of course permitted to leave after the ending of the film should they not wish to stay.
Will food be available?
We encourage you to support the food/drink outlet at the venue by purchasing healthy products where possible. We encourage you to bring your own water bottle.
I can't make the event now - can I get a refund?
Sorry, we can't provide a refund, however you may transfer your ticket to another person should you wish to pass it along or sell it privately. The individual ticket barcodes will be scanned upon entry.
Why is this more expensive than a normal cinema ticket?
As an independent film, this project is entirely self funded by us at Brock Creative Media. With an international filming schedule and expensive tour costs (cinema hire, travel) the only way we can cover our costs, plus ensure we can continue to make films like this, is to charge a slightly higher price than normal.
