This Giving Tuesday, Farmer’s Footprint is proud to spotlight Indigenous Re-Generation, an organization that inspires Native Communities to achieve re-indigenization and true Tribal sovereignty through a re-generative approach to food cultivation, medicinal farming, lifestyle and culture.
Join us on November 30th at 1p PT / 4p ET for: The Cycles of Indigenous Regeneration through Farming, Song, and Stories, a live event featuring Kumeyaay Bird Singer Chris Alvarado, Payómkawichum Ethnobotanist Richard Bugbee, Payómkawichum farm apprentice Carol Murphy, and founder of Indigenous Regeneration, Lacey Boyer Cannon. This event will open with a Bird Song traditionally sung by the Kumeyaay People during their acorn harvest.
About Paradise Valley Farm: In 2021 Indigenous Regeneration was awarded a COVID Food Relief Grant to grow and give away food to elders and community members in need from The San Pasqual Tribe. To date, they have served over 1000 food boxes to their San Pasqual community and provided 2 tribal paid apprenticeships. This project has been possible through a joint partnership with Indigenous ReGeneration, Sea + Soil, and Foodshed.
This virtual gathering will be a conversation about the Kumeyaay and Payómkawichum perspective of farming and regeneration, in addition to the importance and power of storytelling. We will hear about how Paradise Valley Farm is feeding the community across all generations, and how you can support this incredible endeavor.
