Davis Allen, Bowen Island Growers
Bowen Island Growers began in 2013 as a research project for Davis Allen to treat his chronic stomach disorder, due to the lack of information readily available on cannabis. Once receiving an MMAR license to use cannabis for medical purposes in 2013, Davis began to build a large, genetic library comprising of diverse cultivars with different chemical content, due to worsening symptoms of his condition, and due to the lack of genetics available from the emerging MMPR system. Over time, the project has developed into a research and development company, primarily focused on the preservation of exotic cultivars, classic hybrids as well as strains that can be utilized for breeding purposes, such as isolating specific chemical compounds.
Our company is currently in the application process to become a micro cultivator. We aim to bring our genetic library into the legal market to introduce exotic strains of cannabis currently unavailable on the legal commercial market. We also are developing strains with specific traits through breeding projects, primarily working on the modulation of terpene and cannabinoid content.
