Tom Zuber, Managing Partner of Zuber Lawler
Tom Zuber has advised some of the most iconic companies in the world on their patent and trademark portfolios. He is at the cutting edge of cannabis patent and trademark law. Tom holds a law degree from Columbia Law School, a master’s degree in public policy from Harvard Government School, and a biomedical engineering degree from Rutgers University, where he graduated with highest honors.
Vikas Desai, Founder and Partner at Welcan Capital
Welcan Capital is a venture capital firm focused in the cannabis industry. Welcan invests in high-impact, foundational companies across early-stage plant touching and ancillary businesses. With an emphasis on seed investing, Welcan looks to align with experienced entrepreneurs solving key problems that exist in the industry. Prior to Welcan, Vikas was a private equity investor at Oaktree Capital Management and began his career at Morgan Stanley in investment banking, focusing on real estate M&A and capital markets.
Matthew Rosenberg, Tekening Capital
Dr. Matthew Rosenberg invests in private and public entities. He manages Tekening Capital, is a partner in Cannect and serves as a strategic adviser to Thalys, a multi billion Shanghai exchange traded Chinese medical technology and distribution company, among others. He previously founded and sold a cloud based SaaS solution. Beforehand, he worked at McKinsey & Company, where he advised clients in the payor, provider, medical device and pharmaceutical industries. In addition, he served as an Independent Director of a publicly traded medical device company. Matthew received his bachelors Phi Beta Kappa from Harvard and his MD from Yale.
Ian Dominguez, Principal, Delta Emerald Ventures
Ian Dominguez is the Principal of Delta Emerald Ventures, a founder-focused, data-forward cannabis fund based in New York City. Ian was previously a Senior Analyst at Schonfeld, where he invested in the consumer packaged goods and consumer tech industries.
Bobbi Koz Paley, CEO of Art Assets LLC
Bobbi Koz Paley is a ChangeMaker with a proven track record of identifying cultural shifts, investing early, and creating connections across multiple industries and sectors. She has been on the cusp of myriad cultural trends in her lifetime, establishing herself as an early player in real estate, art, and cannabis before they were asset classes. A pioneer in Design Thinking, she has consistently embraced innovation and opportunity to create value.
In 2014, anticipating the looming cultural, economic, and technological transformations in the cannabis industry, Bobbi partnered with her son, Jamie Koz. Uniting her creativity with his decades of experience in cannabis cultivation, they originally opened four micro-grows in Los Angeles, joined ArcView’s global network of leading investors and entrepreneurs, and established an evolving ecosystem among their investments, makers, and fellow investors.
Jamie Pearson, Chief Operating Officer, Bhang Corporation
Jamie L. Pearson – Chief Operating Officer of Bhang Corporation is responsible for the overall vision and direction of the company on a global scale and its entrée into international distribution and capital markets. The daughter of a cannabis cultivator, she literally grew up in the industry and has watched it evolve from Reagan’s war on drugs to where it is now. Professionally before Bhang, Jamie founded and oversaw the day-to-day leadership, management and operations of a successful real estate investment, finance, and management firm. She currently owns a real estate portfolio that spans three countries. In 2015, she co-founded a celebrity cannabis agency, working with iconic artists such as Cypress Hill and Die Antwoord. She has personally owned cultivation operations in Northern California and Montana and has been a cannabis-friendly landlord for over 15 years. At Bhang, she is in charge of all areas of operations including corporate management, strategic planning, banking and finance, global licensee & vendor relationships, supply chain, customer service, hiring and personnel oversight. A certified team builder, published author and popular speaker in both the cannabis and real estate industries, Jamie's “best-of-both-worlds" experience is not only unique and unmatched, it provides a breadth of knowledge that appeals to newcomers and veterans alike. Ian deQueiroz, CEO, Hemp Fusion
Ian is a highly motivated ethical entrepreneur, experienced in early stage high growth companies, fundraising and strategic planning, and brings an intimate understanding of the current opportunities and challenges in the emerging global hemp and cannabis industries. Ian has consulted and worked in many of cannabis’ largest emerging markets in five states and three countries and has played a pivotal role in the founding of various successful companies in the space. Ian has overseen the launch of a leading nationally distributed hemp based supplements line, founded the leading cannabis company in Jamaica, participated in various state license applications and raised seed and growth stage capital and participated in the development of complex and highly regulated supply chains. He operates with a familiarity with what is required to successfully expand in highly regulated markets domestically and internationally.
