Some of our most terrifying tales have been passed down through centuries in the form of folklore, fairytales and legends—and they continue to shape horror narratives today. Award-winning author David Demchuk will look at how we define folklore and separate it from other kinds of storytelling, and look at numerous examples of contemporary horror based on or inspired by these timeless tales. We’ll also look at modern folklore, urban legends and ‘fakelore’ and how they have entered the horror vernacular.
