Forming in their early teens, The Academic are Craig Fitzgerald, Dean Gavin and brothers Matt and Stephen Murtagh, the band have seen an incredible rise since forming, emerging as one of the most exciting live acts on the music scene. The band have grown up together and those early teenage years of grind and graft have only gone to make The Academic one of the most exciting live acts around. From their humble beginnings playing battle of the bands competitions in their local school to the main stage at Reading & Leeds this summer, the platinum selling band have also gone on to play some of the worlds biggest festivals, sell over 100,000 tickets in their native Ireland, the US and Europe and with their largest UK tour, including a trip to London’s O2 Forum next April well on the way to selling out 2022 looks to be a breakthrough year for the band.
