(Malvern, PA) Enjoy an afternoon tea at Historic Sugartown. Indulge in a sumptuous four-course tea provided by Simpson House Tea Room. The tea will include a garden salad, assorted tea sandwiches, scones and dessert, served family style. The tea mistress at Simpson House has put together a special tea blend for Historic Sugartown, which will be the featured tea. During your tea, listen to a talk about 19th-century jewelry and accessories by Debbie Pekala owner of Romantic Jewelers in Phoenixville. Debbie, a trained gemologist, will talk about jewelry popular in the 19th-century when the village of Sugartown was in its heyday. She will also be displaying beautiful examples from her shop and personal collection, including a lovely assortment of cameos. At the end of the tea, visitors are invited to tour Historic Sugartown’s c. 1880s General Store and School Room Exhibit.

The tea will take place in Historic Sugartown’s Carriage Museum, located at 273 Boot Road, Malvern PA. Pre-registration is required as space is limited! Gift certificates also available.
Historic Sugartown, Inc., a private, nonprofit organization, inspires the community to engage with the past through authentic 19th-century experiences, participate in the village’s present life and protect it for the future. Located in the heart of Willistown Township, Historic Sugartown stewards 9.2 acres of land and nine historic structures, including 4.2 acres of open space under conservation easement with Willistown Conservation Trust. Historic Sugartown’s Carriage Museum interprets Chester County’s rich transportation heritage through a rare collection of historic carriages and sleighs in partnership with Chester County Historical Society. Historic Sugartown offers guided tours of the village on weekends from May through the first weekend in December, as well as workshops in its Book Bindery and other programs throughout the year. Simpson House Tea Room is located in a restored 1890s Victorian Farm House at 110 Pottstown Pike in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania. In addition to regular tea room lunches, afternoon tea, and private parties, they also offer: over 100 loose leaf teas, tea cups, tea pots, tea paraphernalia, giftware, gift baskets, tea classes and tastings.
Romantic Jewelers of Phoenixville sells one-of-a-kind fine jewelry pieces that will simply amaze. The building at 241 Bridge Street, built in the late 1800s, has been restored into a welcoming Victorian environment. Owner, Debbie Pekala, has been collecting antique and one-of-a-kind jewelry for almost 30 years. She studied at the Gemological Institute of America in New York, receiving her certifications in Colored Stone Identification and Diamond Grading. She's also taken many seminars at Jewelers of America in New York City. Debbie has been in the antique business for over 21 years, and enjoyed successful businesses in Malvern and West Chester before settling in Phoenixville to specialize in fine jewelry.
