Sustainable building materials and Circular EconomySturgis Carbon Profiling LLP20 Perseverance Works, London, E2 8DDSturgis Carbon Profiling (SCP) will be sharing their expertise and approach to Life Cycle Analysis in respect of sustainable building materials. The Cradle-to-Cradle and Circular Economy principles will be discussed in general and some examples of innovative best practice will be presented with emphasis on reuse and recycling as part of sustainable and low carbon design solutions. SCP will show that putting these principles into practice could not only help reduce material extraction and reduce embodied carbon, but can also save costs. The treatment of these concepts in the International Assessment Methodologies will also be explored to see how these principles are encouraged in practical terms. All of these measures are considered with the underlying aim of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and of preserving the natural environment. Presenters: Athina Papakosta, Leo Cheung, Mirko Farnetani and Olga Koumaditou of Sturgis Carbon Profiling.
