Description
SaMel Tanz love to share their dance knowledge with the wider community and is committed to delivering quality experiences for all ages and abilities, empowering participants to free themselves of limitations and embody all that they are in the present. Workshops will include icebreakers; a warmup; foundational knowledge; and choreography in a fun, creative, and safe environment.
Class 1 (September 5) Hip Hop
A fun and dynamic class that explores the foundations of hip-hop movement that can help you feel more at ease at your next social dance event! A warmup of grooves will start the class, followed by hip-hop basics and a combination danced to a popular song.
Class 2 (September 12) Contemporary
Through a variety of movement sequences and self-discovering exercises, participants will learn how to move their bodies through space in an unconventional way. Learn to communicate your emotions through movement. This class will include a warmup, some fun improvisational exercises, and short choreography danced to a soft melodic track.
Class 3 (September 19) Salsa
This intro to salsa is a great way to get hooked to the dance form! Salsa can be danced on your own or with a partner. Participants will learn basic salsa steps, stylings, and shines as well as some fun partner work. This is the perfect place to stretch your social skills and develop your musicality and rhythm.
Class 4 (Sept 26) Repertory
SaMel Tanz is known for their unique fusion of dance styles in their choreography. Come experience some new repertory from their Championess production debuting later this November! This will be a powerful and dynamic class that provides participants the opportunity to move their bodies in an unconventional way as SaMel Tanz fuse hip hop, contemporary, and salsa movement together. Together we will explore how the phrases were created, what themes are behind it, and how others can embody it to make it their own.
