We are pleased to invite you to SOIL: Slow Opportunities for Investing Locally's second annual farm dinner. To mirror the growth and momentum of our non-profit over the last year, our farm dinner is bigger and better - featuring four talented chefs and food businesses who dedicate their menus to locally sourced and regenerative farmers. We're excited for all the new members and local-food advocates and farm supporters to join in for a multi-course, family style meal*.
Space is limited to 75 guests. Farmer Members (who join SOIL for $25 per year) can purchase tickets at a significantly reduced rate and members of SOIL receive advance ticket access and $50 off their ticket price price as a thank you for their tax-deductible donations that flow into our 0% For Soil Loan Program to local sustainable farmers and food enterprises. Please consider joining as a member (link below) to help our work supporting our local food system!
Program details:
2:00–5:30pm: Members-only business meeting: Please join us for voting for two farmers asking for zero interest loans. We are beyond excited to have speaker Katherine Pease, Head of Impact Strategy for Cornerstone Capital speak. Cornerstone's Colorado Impact Report is a gorgeous overview of organizations doing the hard work of community wealth building and impact investing. SOIL was featured on page 16 of the report.
5:30–6:30pm: Reception with beer, wine, Stem cider and light hors d'oeuvres for Members and Farm Dinner Guests
6:30–8:30pm: Farm-to-table dinner featuring Expect a coursed family style meal collaboratively planned by Chef Eric Lee of Acreage by Stem Ciders, Kelly Whitaker of Basta, Dry Storage (and one of America's 10 Best Hot New Restaurants in the nation by Bon Appetite - Wolf's Tailor!), Abby Knowles of Boulder Kitchen Collective, and Claudia Steen of Pastificio (and maybe a few more surprises).
To join as a member or learn more about SOIL —Slow Opportunities for Investing Locally, please visit https://slowmoney.org/soil, like our page on Facebook, and/or follow us on Instagram at @SOILBoulder for three posts weekly about our food system, farmers, and members.
*As the meal is family style centered on produce and proteins from farms SOIL loaned funds to and seasonality - we will do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions but cross contact should be expected despite our best efforts. We thank you for being understanding about this constraint and our volunteers and chefs who donate time to help our loan program.
