Description
Welcome to Saturday Night Book Jam, a great night
out of music and comedy in Hammersmith.
The Book Jam is part of Books Unbound Literary Festival 2016, a new
community event taking place in Hammersmith over the weekend of Saturday 25 to
Sunday 26 June, raising money for Doorstep Library, local state primary school
Lena Gardens and the bursary programme at Godolphin and Latymer School. Tickets
for the Book Jam are just £15 each with performances on the night from:
Glenn Moore
Glenn Moore, from critically acclaimed sketch duo Thünderbards, will be
MC for the evening, charming the audience with his natural comfort on stage and
witty storytelling abilities about life in the real world. He performs
regularly across the UK, for the likes of Jongleurs, Off The Kerb and Komedia.
At the 2014 Edinburgh Fringe, he was part of the prestigious AAA Stand-Up Late
showcase show.
Emma McGrath
McGrath, aged just 16, is already turning heads with her song writing
and performances. With influences ranging from Tracey Chapman to Bombay Bicycle
Club, Emma writes a combination of hard hitting acoustic music carried by an
incredibly powerful voice. At 15, Emma won the PRS Foundation's Lynsey de Paul
Prize for Female Songwriters as well as releasing her first EP ‘The Judgement’
and more recently Sit With Me, her latest single.
Chris Martin
Chris's stand-up, which is a mix of upbeat whimsy and observations
("one of the UK's best young observationalists",
The Guardian),
has led him to be critically and publicly acclaimed for his shows at the
Edinburgh Festival from 2011. As well as his live performances, he currently
has a sitcom project in development, has appeared on a number of TV panel
shows, and recently starred in "Horrible Science" opposite Ben
Miller. Chris is also the co-host of one of the most popular British podcasts,
"The Carl Donnelly & Chris Martin Comedy Podcast", which The
Guardian listed in its top 10 comedy podcasts.
Dave Green
Dave Green has been doing stand-up comedy since 2011. Since then his
surreal one liners and deadpan delivery have fast proved popular with audiences
and promoters alike. In 2013 he won the wild card vote in the BBC New Comedy
Award securing him a place in the semi-final which was broadcast on BBC Radio
2. In 2014 he was nominated by a panel of industry professionals to take part
in the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year. He is also a finalist in the
Leicester Square New Comedian 2012 and is the winner of the Comedy Knights
Fresh Comedian 2014. “Fantastically original gags” - Bruce Dessau, Beyond The
Joke. “Could be a contender to follow in the footsteps of Milton Jones” - Steve
Bennett, Chortle. “Highly watchable deadpan style” - What’s on
London.
Damian Clark
Australian Damian Clark burst onto the UK comedy circuit in 2012 where
his high-octane observational stand up has certainly caused some waves. Clark’s
infectious energy and childlike outlook has had audiences in hysterics from the
get-go and was snapped up immediately to appear on BBC3 & Comedy Central.
Damian’s rambunctious and uplifting stand up continues to tour clubs &
festivals all over the UK, Ireland, Europe and beyond.
Over 21s only.
