SALT Contemporary Dance, a classically trained artistically bold dance company that has turned heads and sold out performances since its debut only four years ago, opens its 2017-18 season with world premieres by audience favorite choreographers: Brendan Duggan and Joni Tuttle McDonald.
Also on the program is audience favorite Paper Cuts by internationally acclaimed Peter Chu that premiered in SALT’s run of sold-out performances in April 2017.
By choosing to only present new and commissioned work by emerging choreographers, SALT offers fresh perspectives, new voices, and a global frame of reference to Utah audiences.
“SALT simply stands out amongst the sea of prospects presenting contemporary dance today.”
—Northwest Dance Project’s resident choreographer, Ihsan Rustem (Rustem’s Voice of Reason is also on the program)
“SALT represents an aesthetic strand in the vast web of professional concert dance that is ‘the look of now.’”
—award-winning choreographer and Univ of Utah associate professor of dance Eric Handman (Handman’s Omnivore is also on the program.)
