Description
In this Improvised Comedy workshop, participants will learn how to actively listen, think on their feet, and learn how to collaborate with a scene partner and affirm their ideas by acting them out.
Improv comedy is a communal art form. It is also a performance based on thinking freely and building connections with ideas (not over analyzing). It is imperative that improv comedy performers are attentive to their team members and that they are wholeheartedly validating and celebrating their partner's ideas; instead of trying to be funny, improv comedy requires performers to let stories unfold on their own and react to comedic situations authentically. When improv performers execute their performances in reaction to their audience, it creates a sense of commonality and humanity.
