This Print a Fish workshop will teach participants about the Japanese form of printing on rice paper with real fish. Participants will explore this creative form of printmaking using the body of a real fish to transfer the surface details of these unique creatures onto paper using ink and paint. Participants will also gain insight into the ecology of the Scarborough Bluffs and the environmental aspects of fish during this workshop.
ABOUT THE FACILITATOR
Charles Weiss has been expressing art as an illustrator for magazines, newspapers and websites. Recently the city of Toronto published Fishes of Toronto which included over 20 of his artworks. His art also includes wood carvings of fish. His work has also appeared in various publications including the Toronto Star, Real Fishing Magazine and Wood Carving Illustrated.
