Description
2019 sees Ronan Keating starting his 26th year in the music industry, making him something of an anomaly in the world of pop music!
Born in Dublin, Ronan Keating originally found fame as part of the hit nineties boy band Boyzone. Founded by Louis Walsh, the group achieved unparalleled success all over Europe and were widely touted as Ireland's answer to Take That. Their first taste of musical success came in November 1994 when Boyzone hit the top three for the very first time with their first hit ‘Love Me for A Reason’.
In those initial five years as part of one the biggest pop bands ever, he enjoyed success with an incredible 16 top five singles, six of which hit the number one spot. In August of 1999 he had his first ever solo number one with ‘When You Say Nothing at All’ from the hit movie ‘Notting Hill’.
In August of 2000 Ronan released his debut, self-titled, album. It shot straight to number one in the UK Album Charts, it contained the two number one singles ‘When You Say Nothing at All’ and ‘Life Is A Rollercoaster’. It went on to sell a very impressive 4.4 million copies around the world and firmly established Ronan as an artist in his own right!
Ronan boasts a lifetime of impressive professional achievements including; dueting with Elton John at Madison Square Garden, singing for the Pope, hosting everything from Eurovision Song Contest and MTV Europe Awards, acting as a judge on the no 1 TV show X Factor in Australia, recording with Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens), writing an autobiography, guiding Westlife to stardom, winning a prestigious BMI European Song Writing Award, winning an Ivor Novello Award, being appointed as a UN Goodwill Ambassador, providing the singing voice for Postman Pat, plus too many hits, gigs and awards to keep count, Ronan’s prolific, varied and highly successful career shows no sign of slowing.
Supporting Ronan will be Katie Kittermaster, an 18 year old singer/ songwriter from Kent. Her vocals are haunting and distinctive and she is a rising new talent and one to watch!
Also supporting will be Joe Bygraves. Joe is a 23-year-old pop singer-songwriter from Bedfordshire. Having made his name at University on the Leicester acoustic and open mic scene, Joe returned to his home town of Bedford to record his first single ‘Childhood Sweetheart’, which was selected for a Spotify UK Soft Pop Songs playlist, and his debut EP Chapter One. 2018 was a year of big gigs for Joe culminating in playing an opening set at the longstanding Bedford Park Proms to over 7,000 people.
Joe returned in June 2019 with a new EP ‘Chapter Two’. The new EP is a heady mix of pop sounds, with tracks like Joe’s recent single ‘Bring Me Down’ bringing some earthy guitar as well as the soft piano notes of ‘Some Things Don’t Last Forever’. The EP is the product of some hard work in the studio for Joe, where he has striven to refine his sound and create a more mature record.
