Description
Red Dress Party San Diego Returns for a Night in Rouge!
A celebration to raise awareness and funds for organizations that serve the local HIV/AIDS community; but not your typical fundraising gala, this event is so much more.
What Makes Red Dress Party San Diego Different?
Red Dress Party San Diego is a night of music and dancing mixed with charity and fun, where all attendees – and we mean everyone – is required to wear a red dress, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation. This serves both as a powerful sign of solidarity and compassion for those affected by HIV/AIDS and a way to unite the crowd in one radiant theme. At this unique celebration we invite everyone to be brave, let loose, and celebrate impact.
Le Venue, Le Rouge, Le Oui!
This year we return to the San Diego Natural History Museum. This historic, gorgeous venue allows for 700 attendees to get decadently dressed up and let loose. The main level provides a grand entrance plus photo booths and bars. The lower level heats up with a live DJ, dancing, and drinking. The open-air rooftop -- available exclusively to our VIP and LUXE guests -- chills out with lounge seating, another live DJ, ambient lighting, and glittery views of Balboa Park at night.
This year's theme is "Rouge". Think costumes of velvet and lace, ruffles and frills, and anything you find sexy, sensual, and seductive. LUXE attendees will find their private lounge areas appointed with romantic, opulent furniture. And there may be a flirty surprise or two in store. Not into that extra ooh la la? Then come in a red dress of your desire. Although dressing to the theme is suggested, the only thing required (as always) is wearing a red dress.
This year we hope to raise a record-breaking $30,000. Our first year we were able to make a $8,000 donation to our event beneficiary, the San Diego HIV Funding Collaborative; last year we more than doubled it with a $20,000 donation. This year, we want to bring in more than ever before (combined!) with an astonishing $30,000 donation to benefit the local HIV/AIDS community. Here are ways you can help get us to our goal:
Attend this year's Red Dress Party San Diego (and better yet bring a friend!)
Come to any of our pre-events
Spread the word about RDPSD 2017 on social media to drum up awareness
Donate to our organization online or at any of our events (all donations are fully tax deductible)
FAQs
Do I seriously have to wear a dress? Yes, seriously. Everyone – that means everyone – has to wear a red dress (or dress-like garment) to the event. You will not be allowed to enter the event if you aren't in a red dress.
Is there an age restriction to attend the event? Yes, you must be 21 years of age or older with valid ID.
Is my ticket refundable? No, all ticket sales are final; however, tickets may be transferred to another person up to 48 hours prior to the event.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? If you want, but we will have a guest list and electronic check-in at registration. Just bring a valid photo ID.
Is there smoking permitted at the event? No. The Museum, including the VIP Rooftop Lounge, and all of Balboa Park are designated as non-smoking areas.
What's going to be different than last year? Great question -- for starters we have confirmed use of the elevator for VIP and LUXE guests to access the rooftop! Secondly, we plan on bringing back coat check from year 1 in the form of "Check Yo'self" (because who in San Diego needs a coat?) where you can store a change of clothes, comfy shoes or what not (but reminder keep your valuables with you please). Thirdly, well ... you will just have to come and find out for yourself!
