Description
While Southern California doesn't get much rainfall, what we do get adds up quickly! Learn how to harness this resource for the benefit of our oceans and your garden.
Just 1” of rain yields 600 gallons of water per 1000 sq. ft. of garden or roof space. By designing your space to capture, absorb, and redirect rainfall, you can make use of this resource while preventing runoff pollution after a storm.
One simple and impactful solution is to install a rain barrel.
By the end of this workshop, you will:
Understand how to install a rain barrel at your home.
Be familiar with a variety of rainwater catchment system types, applications, tools, and maintenance requirements. This will include water friendly garden design, drip irrigation, backyard earthworks, grey water systems, and retrofitting opportunities.
Possess hands-on skills to aid in simple water recycling and conservation tactics.
All attendees will have access to discount pricing on rain barrels and installation kits.
